President Cassandra Spier shared many of Lee’s life accomplishments and examples of his continual support of MSWG. Lee (now deceased) was presented with a framing of the article published on the AAW website in honor of his Lifetime member award. Club members present at the meeting were asked to sign the back of Lee’s award.

During the December 2011 meeting, President Skip Wilbur presented John with a certificate and named him a Lifetime member in honor of his many contributions to the club.

During the annual Christmas potluck, Larry was recognized for his extraordinary service to the club and presented with a customized woodturned platter made and donated by club members.

At the August meeting, Matt Garner was recognized with the MSWG Lifetime Membership Award for his long-time membership and dedication to the club. Matt has served 120 months on the MSWG board, all of them as Treasurer.

Bill (now deceased) was recognized for his long-time involvement with and support of MSWG.

At the annual December 2011 Christmas party, Jerry Hosier was awarded the 2011 “member of the year award” and in November 2012 as a Lifetime Member by Skip Wilbur. Jerry has served on the MSWG board and on the Mentor list. Most members recall Jerry as the one who, for many years, set-up our meeting room, secured the drinks and donuts, and cleaned up afterward. He was born in Iowa City, IA, served in the Navy for thirty years, and worked for FedEx.

Recognized for his tireless support of and service to the club, Skip was presented with a customized woodturned platter made and donated by club members during the annual Christmas potluck.

At the December 2022 general meeting (annual holiday event), Joseph Voda was recognized with the MSWG Lifetime Membership Award for his long-time membership and dedication to the club. At the time of the award presentation, Joseph had served 110 months on the MSWG board: 35 months as Vice President, 24 months as Secretary, 24 months as Treasurer, and 27 as a board member at large. In additional, he served 38 months as the Turners Talk editor.

Johnny (now deceased) was a woodturner for well over 65 years, inspiring many along the way. “Johnny has more wood-related knowledge in his pinkie than I will learn in my lifetime” was a frequently heard comment.

During the annual Christmas potluck, President Dennis Paullus presented Mike with a custom woodturned platter. Featuring Mike’s name and the club’s logo, the platter was made and donated by club members as a thank you for Mike’s dedicated service and commitment to the club.
